How to activate the 'dark mode' on Facebook, Skype, Twitter and others?

Function, which changes color, seeks to rest your eyes and optimize the battery of your devices.

Either for saving battery or just for style, in recent months various services and applications of everyday use have chosen to offer a 'night mode', which transforms the bright and traditional appearance of many applications and provides a black appearance that consumes less amount of battery and it is more comfortable for your eyes when you consult your phone at night.

Then find step by step how to activate the 'dark mode' in the following four services.

Facebook Messenger

The instant messaging service within Facebook, Messenger, proposes a small challenge for the activation, for the first time, of its interface in a dark way. To unlock the mode you must find the function hidden in one of the keyboard emojis.

Go to a Messenger chat with one of your contacts and use the yellow half moon emoji. After sending it, a 'rain' of moons will appear in the chat that you can press. After the game, a warning will appear that says "you have found the dark mode." Press the option to "test in the configuration" and it will automatically reach the settings of the application.

From now on, to activate or deactivate it, you must review its settings and slide the tab that turns the mode on or off.

Twitter

The blue bird micro blogging platform also has an option called 'night mode'. Activation is simple. Open your Twitter account, go to your profile photo to find the configuration and privacy panel.
Within the general options choose 'screen and sound', click on 'night mode' and activate the option. The traditional white background of your home screen on Twitter will change to a dark gray tone and the text will turn white. The links will remain in the blue tone. If you wish, you can activate the function automatically at sunset.

Outlook

This mail service included a dark mode in its Beta version of the inbox, which appears at the top of your email as 'try the new mail version'. With the new service, you must go to the configuration icon, where you can activate the mode.

The feature has the drawback that the dark mode is associated only with the main theme, for now. This means that if you have a different theme you can not activate it. The function applies for web service and not for mobile.

Skype

To activate the mode, you must enter the Skype application on a computer. Go to the icon of the three horizontal points in the upper right part of the bar. Click on the 'configuration' option, look for the option 'choose a mode' and choose 'dark'.

In the mobile application, when entering the service for the first time you could choose between the white background and the black background. If the traditional white background theme was already established, click on your profile photo to display the configuration options. There choose the option 'Appearance' and there choose 'Dark'. The service also includes an accessible mode of high contrast that further highlights the color of the texts.
